FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONs

I’m not sure if my child will enjoy Little Splodgers: can we come along to try it out before we decide? Yes! Your first ‘taster’ session is FREE. If you would like to attend further sessions you will need to register and pay for the rest of the term (£4.50 per child per session). Why do I have to register and pay termly in advance? Can’t I just ‘drop in’? There are four reasons why you need to register and book in advance: 1) So that I can plan the sessions properly and ensure there are sufficient materials for each child. 2) The cost of materials is spread over the term and will vary from week to week, sometimes we will use mainly recycled and low cost materials and other times the materials will be more costly/substantial, eg: Valentines Day, Mothers Day and Fathers Day gifts. 3) Some projects are planned in two consecutive 45 min sessions to allow time for paint/glue/clay/papier mache to dry. 4) In case of any unforeseen changes or cancellations. I have two young children and, in the event of illness, I might need to contact you to let you know if a session is cancelled (in which case you will get a credit for a session in the following term). I have a toddler, age 3 and an 8 month old baby: do I have to pay for both? No you don’t have to pay for both. Babies under 1 year are free. I am happy for babies to play with the unstructured play materials, but once they can participate in making the session project you will need to pay for them as well. Please supervise your baby at all times, just in case they try to eat the unstructured play materials! How many children are there in a session? It depends on how many register, but there will be no more than 15 children participating in each session. What should my child wear… do you provide aprons? I do provide aprons for the children, but please wear old clothes just in case they get marked. I provide washable glue, paints and pens, but occasionally other items are not colour-fast (eg: tissue paper and crepe paper are often not colour-fast). Please feel free to bring your own aprons if you would like to. I don’t provide aprons for Parents/Carers. Will there be somewhere to leave our buggy/pram? Yes – there is plenty of space at All Saints and no steps to negotiate. You can leave your buggy/pram in the same room as the sessions (very useful if you have a baby asleep!) Can we get a drink/snack during the session? Yes – I provide organic squash or water and a healthy snack (usually bread sticks, rice cakes or fruit) for the children and a choice of hot drinks for parents/carers (tea, coffee and fruit/herb teas).
